Virgin polypropylene and recycled polypropylene can look identical on a shelf and behave differently after a year of UV exposure and dishwashing. Ask which grade is quoted, and buy the drop test and the load test on the production mould rather than on a sample mould, because the wall thickness can move once the tool is run at speed.

Food contact and mouth contact items carry their own tests

A lunch box, a drinking cup and a reusable straw are food contact ware, and the migration test is run on the finished article in the colourway you are buying. A toothbrush is not food contact ware but it does touch the mouth, and bristle retention is the usual failure in that family.

Cleaning chemicals change the shipping paperwork

Where a kit ships with a liquid, the liquid can make the whole shipment dangerous goods, even at low concentration. The usual fix is to ship the bottle empty and fill locally, or to ship the concentrate separately. This is decided before the packaging artwork is drawn, not after the carton is printed.

A household range is a packing problem before it is a design problem

Brooms, buckets and storage boxes are volumetric rather than heavy, so a container fills on space long before it reaches weight. Nesting, knock down construction and carton configuration are what make a household order economical, and they are worth designing with the factory before the first production run.

How do you handle items that ship with liquid or chemicals?

We treat the liquid as its own decision. Either the bottle ships empty and is filled at destination, or the concentrate ships as a declared dangerous good with the correct documents. We confirm which route applies before quoting, because it changes both the freight and the packaging.

Do household plastics need testing?

Food contact items do, and so do items with a child appeal or a safety claim. Plain storage and cleaning tools often need less, but the destination market decides, so we confirm per product before quoting rather than applying one rule to the whole range.

What is your own minimum order?

Our own minimum is one piece, which is enough to test a plastic grade, a hinge or a bristle before you commit to a production run. The factory minimums are in the table above and apply once you move to bulk.

Can you hold a colour standard across several factories?

Yes, and on a household range it is worth doing, because a grey bin from one factory and a grey bin from another rarely match. Send one reference piece, we keep it as the standard and photograph it under fixed light, then compare every item against it before the shipment is loaded.
