Product Video Production for Online Sellers
A still photo shows what a product looks like. It does not show the lid opening smoothly, the fabric moving, or the thing working. Marketplaces increasingly push listings that carry video, and paid social will not run properly without it, so the clip is now part of the product, not decoration on top of it.
We film products in Guangzhou while they are with us, which means the video is shot on the actual goods from your order rather than on a stock unit pulled off a shelf. It also settles the questions a photograph starts and cannot finish: how large the item really is, how it moves, and what is inside the box.
What we shoot
- Listing video: the product turning through a full circle, the key features in sequence, the scale of it in a hand
- Product in use: the item doing the job it is bought for, from a stable angle with even light
- Unpacking: the retail box, the layers inside, and everything in the carton
- Detail passes: the stitching, the joint, the coating, the finish on the edge, which is what a still photograph hides
- Short cutdowns: the same footage cut to a square, a vertical and a wide format for the different placements
What we need from you before the shoot
- The product, in the packaging it will ship in, with any accessories that belong in the shot
- The one thing the video is meant to prove. One clip argues one point well; four points in fifteen seconds argue none of them
- The format and the length the placement accepts, and whether there is a brand guideline on colours and logo use
- Whether any claim in the script has to be supported, because regulated categories usually need the wording agreed before filming
How it runs
- We agree the shot list against the point the video has to make
- We shoot at the same time as the product photography session, so the stills and the clips match in look
- We send the raw selects for you to approve before the edit, which avoids paying for an edit around a shot you would not use
- We deliver the finished files in the formats and lengths you asked for, named so your listing team can find them
Where the footage is useful
- The main image slot or the video slot on a marketplace listing
- Paid social, where the first two seconds decide whether the rest is watched
- A product page on your own store, next to the specification
- WhatsApp and mail to buyers, where a clip answers a question faster than a paragraph
Frequently asked questions
Can you edit footage we already have?
Yes, if the source material is usable. Send it and we will tell you honestly whether it cuts together or needs to be shot again.
Do you write the script?
We write the shot list and the on screen text. If the video is narrated, you approve the wording before anything is filmed.
What if the product is not with you?
Send it to our receiving address and it joins the queue, or arrange the shoot on a sample that a factory sends directly.
How long does it take?
It depends on the shot list and the number of cutdowns. We give you a planned delivery date before the shoot rather than after.
Send us the product you want filmed
Tell us the product, the placement the video is for and the point it has to make. We will come back with a shot list and a plan.
Send the details through the contact page and we will reply with what we would film and why.
