How We Managed a 100+ Style Pet Product Order Across 69 Factories
CLIENT BACKGROUND
A Colombian client approached Select Trade after experiencing repeated communication and service issues with a previous supplier. The supplier was slow to respond, making it difficult for the client to manage a large and diverse product order.
The client needed a reliable sourcing partner who could handle multiple pet product categories, coordinate different manufacturers, and manage the entire purchasing process from sourcing to shipment.
THE CHALLENGE
The client needed a wide range of pet products, with relatively small quantities for many individual items. The key challenges included:
- Finding suitable suppliers for a large number of different products
- Comparing products and prices across multiple factories
- Managing small quantities across different suppliers
- Checking real-time stock availability
- Finding suitable alternatives for out-of-stock products
- Coordinating production, payment, inspection, and delivery across multiple factories
OUR SOURCING PROCESS
- Understanding the Client’s Requirements. We first worked closely with the client to understand their product requirements, preferred styles, quantities, and purchasing needs.
- Sourcing From Nearly 300 Factories. We assigned two purchasing specialists to search and screen nearly 300 factories, then organized the suitable options into 7 product catalogs for the client to review.
- Selecting More Than 100 Product Styles. The client selected 100+ styles, with quantities from dozens to around 100 pieces per item. Before confirming the order, we re-contacted every manufacturer to verify current stock; for out-of-stock products we sourced similar alternatives for approval. After several rounds of adjustments, the final order was confirmed.
MANAGING 69 FACTORIES
After the client completed payment, Select Trade coordinated payments to 69 different factories. Each supplier had different production schedules, stock situations, delivery times, packaging requirements and shipping arrangements. Our purchasing team continuously followed up with each supplier so the products reached our consolidation warehouse as scheduled.
QUALITY INSPECTION & CONSOLIDATION
Once the products arrived at our warehouse, our warehouse team inspected the incoming goods before consolidation, then coordinated the cargo from different suppliers so the separate shipments could be consolidated into one organized shipment. After all products had arrived and the checks were completed, we consolidated the cargo and arranged shipment to the client.
THE RESULT
What could have become a complicated multi-supplier purchasing process was successfully managed through one sourcing partner. The client purchased 100+ pet product styles from 69 factories without communicating with dozens of individual suppliers.
WHY THIS MATTERS
You don’t need to manage dozens of Chinese suppliers yourself. Whether you need a single product or hundreds of different SKUs, our team can help you source, coordinate suppliers, manage production, inspect incoming goods, consolidate shipments, and keep the entire process organized.
