The panel and the fabric carry the regulation
Composite wood in furniture sold into the United States has to meet formaldehyde limits, and panels sold in the European Union carry their own emission classes. Ask for the panel certificate for the production run, not for the factory’s standard sample, and put the panel grade in the specification.
Chairs and desks are tested to a standard
Office seating and desks are tested against recognised furniture standards for static load, cycling and stability. A branded gas cylinder of a stated class is the single component that decides whether a chair comes back, so specify it rather than accepting whatever is fitted.
Freight is designed at the same time as the product
Furniture is volume and weight together, which makes it the most expensive category to move. Ask for the packed carton dimensions, the units per pallet and the flat pack design before comparing two quotations, because a cheaper chair that packs badly can cost more landed.
Consumables are their own risk
Compatible toner and ink cartridges turn on the chip version, the page yield and whether the cartridge leaks in transit. Test a cartridge through a full print cycle on the machine it is sold for, and confirm the firmware compatibility rather than assuming it.

The factory minimum is in the table above, and it is set by the panel cutting and the powder coating run. Our own minimum is one piece, which is enough to test a chair or a drawer unit before an office is furnished.
How long does furniture take?
The lead times are in the table above and they are longer than small goods, because the panel work and the coating have their own queues. Book the production slot before the fitting date rather than after.
Can you hold stock for a staged fit out?
Yes. Fit outs are usually released floor by floor rather than all at once, so we hold the balance in our warehouse and release it against your schedule. That also keeps the delivery date from being fixed before the building is ready to receive furniture.
