Wholesale Screwdriver Sets from China

A screwdriver is the tool most likely to be used badly, which makes the tip the whole product. A tip that fits a screw properly and holds its shape turns a fastener; a tip that is soft or slightly undersize cams out, damages the screw and ends up in a drawer.

Set of screwdrivers with coloured handles arranged on a white background The photograph shows a representative set from the category. Handle colour, tip type and piece count follow the approved sample, and the image is illustrative rather than a picture of your goods.

We have sourced screwdriver sets out of the Zhejiang and Jiangsu clusters for years. Three failures repeat. A set sold with hardened tips arrives with a batch that was tempered too far and rounds off on the first stubborn screw. A tip that measured correctly on the sample arrives with a looser fit that wobbles in the slot. And a handle that gripped well on the sample arrives in a harder plastic that slips once a hand is oily.

This page covers what the tip and handle words mean, what belongs on the order sheet, and the checks that catch a weak lot. The supply base behind the category is in our wholesale hardware and tools overview.

Tip, shaft and handle

The tip is a hardened piece of steel and its quality is a combination of alloy, hardening and the geometry of the flutes. Geometry is what makes a tip fit: the width, the thickness and the taper have to match the screw the tool is meant for, and a tip that is close but not correct damages the fastener.

The shaft carries the torque from hand to tip. A shaft that twists under load takes a permanent set, which is why shaft material and the join to the tip both matter. The join is a common weak point in cheap sets, because a tip can be pressed into a shaft of lower grade steel.

The handle is the interface and it is judged by grip rather than by shape. Material, surface texture and the way the handle resists oil all affect whether the tool slips under load, and a slipping handle is what causes a cam out rather than a soft tip.

Specifications and minimum order

Our minimum order is 1 piece, so you can start with a single unit and scale up once the sample is approved. Every line below changes what the factory produces. We do not print prices or schedules here, because steel and moulding inputs move; send the piece count, the tip types and the quantity, and we come back with a live quotation and a firm production slot.

Specification What to confirm before you order
Tip hardness the target range, measured on finished tips rather than on stock
Tip geometry width, thickness and taper for each size, against the screws intended
Shaft material and the method joining the tip to the shaft
Torque the load the tip must hold without permanent deformation
Handle material, surface texture and grip when oily
Set contents every piece listed by tip type and size, plus any bit holder
Minimum order stated per set configuration, since tips are machined in size batches

Minimums in screwdriver sets are driven by the tip machining batches and by the case printing, so a tight set configuration holds cost down. Our sourcing service covers the factory screening, the sample round and the inspections below.

What the tip words mean in practice

Hardness has an optimum rather than a maximum. A tip that is softer than it should be deforms and rounds off, while one that is too hard becomes brittle and chips at the flutes. The useful specification is a range, and the useful check is a measurement on a finished tip rather than on the bar stock.

Fit is what the user experiences. A tip that is a fraction narrow cams out under load and chews the screw head, and the damage is blamed on the user rather than the tool. Fit is measurable with a gauge on the flutes of a sample tip.

Grip completes the chain. A handle that slips or a tip that fits badly produce the same outcome, and both are visible in the same test: drive a stubborn screw and inspect what happened to the tip and to the screw head.

Inspection points that catch a weak lot

These checks find what a product photograph cannot:

An independent inspection before loading catches all five at the cheapest point. Factory inspection covers this category, and the wider system is set out in our guide to the sample versus bulk gap.

Frequently asked questions

What tip hardness should a screwdriver have?

A range rather than a maximum. Too soft and the tip deforms under load; too hard and it chips at the flutes. The practical specification names the range and the measurement point, and the check happens on finished tips rather than on raw stock.

Why do screwdriver tips slip out of screws?

Because the tip is slightly undersize or the handle slips under load. Both produce the same cam out and the same damaged screw head, and both are measurable: a gauge on the flutes and an oily hand on the handle at inspection.

Should a set include a bit holder?

It follows the market. A set built around a bit holder covers more fastener types for less steel, while individual drivers feel more solid in the hand. The two approaches suit different buyers, so the set contents belong in the specification either way.
