Buying on Alibaba as an Overseas Buyer
Alibaba is where most overseas buyers start, and it is also where the listed price is rarely the price you end up paying. Sellers open with a headline figure and then move it for quantity, packing, payment method and how much they want the order. Buyers outside China often lose that negotiation before it starts: they cannot visit the seller, cannot see the factory behind the account, and cannot check the goods before the balance leaves.

What we do on an Alibaba order
- We read the listing properly: the specification, the options that change the price, the seller’s rating and how long they have traded
- We message the seller in Chinese to confirm the exact variant, the stock situation and what the price becomes at a higher quantity
- We buy it, receive it at our Guangzhou address, and check the goods against what the listing promised
- We photograph what arrived, note any difference from the listing or the order, and tell you before it goes any further
- We hold it, re-pack or label it if you need that, and combine it with the rest of your shipment
Small orders, single pieces and samples
Our minimum order is one piece, and an Alibaba order is often exactly that: one unit to test, ten pieces to photograph, fifty pieces to try in one market before committing. Mixed variants are welcome. If a seller’s own minimum is higher than the quantity you want, we tell you the real figure and what it costs at that quantity instead of guessing.
This is also the cheapest way to test a product. Buy one unit, look at it in your hands, and decide whether it deserves a container. If it does, we can then go to the factory behind the listing through our sourcing service and quote it at production quantity.
What an Alibaba purchase does not get you
- No factory relationship. The listing may be a trading account rather than the factory itself, even when the seller carries a verified badge
- No written specification beyond the listing, so options that look identical in a photo can differ by material grade
- No export documentation on the seller’s side, which is exactly the part we handle for you
- No branded or counterfeit goods. If a listing is a copy of a protected brand, we will not buy it

Do you add a markup without telling us?
No. You see what the goods cost and what our service costs, as separate lines. The one thing we will not do is quote you a landed number that hides both.
Can you buy from Chinese domestic platforms as well?
Yes. Domestic platforms work the same way for us: send the link, we confirm the variant and buy it.
What if the goods are not what the listing showed?
We tell you before shipping and hold the order. With a clear difference from the listing we go back to the seller first, and you decide whether to keep it, return it or leave it with us.
Can you buy several listings and send them as one parcel?
Yes, that is the usual pattern. We receive everything at one address, check it item by item, and consolidate it through our warehouse and packing service.
