Waterproof ratings are the first thing to test
A hydrostatic head figure in millimetres is a test result, not a marketing line. Ask for the figure for the fly sheet and for the floor separately, and have a rain test run on production units. A tent that leaks generates returns, and returns on a bulky item cost more than the item.
Sleeping bag ratings follow a standard
A comfort temperature comes from a lab test on a standard manikin, and the fill grade decides whether the claim holds. Ask for the fill power and the fill weight, and match the label wording to the test rather than to what a competitor prints.
Flame and chemical rules on outdoor textiles
Tents and sleeping bags fall under flammability rules in the United States, and any textile sold into the European Union has to meet the chemical restrictions on finishes and dyes. Both are material choices, so they have to be settled before the fabric is ordered.
The cheapest component sets the returns rate
Poles, zips, buckles, pole sleeves and guy line fixings fail before the fabric does. Ask which of them the factory makes and which it buys, and specify the ones it buys. That single question explains most of the difference between two similar quotations.

Can you copy an existing design?
We can work from a design you own or from a reference sample, and we will tell you if a feature looks protected. What we will not do is reproduce a branded or patented product.
What is the minimum order?
The factory minimum is in the table above. Our own minimum is one piece, so a single tent or bag can be bought as a sample before you commit to a production run.
How do bulky orders ship?
Volume is the cost driver here. Tents and furniture are usually consolidated with your other suppliers into one load through our shipping service, which brings the freight per unit down more than any price negotiation.
Can you pack tents for retail as well as for transport?
Yes. A retail pack is the carry bag, the pole set, the peg set, a repair patch and the carton, assembled to one standard so that every unit opens the same way. We fix that packing with the factory before the run, because a packing change after production means repacking by hand.
