Wholesale Airless Pump Bottles from China
An airless pump bottle is packaging bought for two reasons: the formula inside needs protection from air, and the customer wants every last gram of an expensive product. Both of those promises are kept or broken by parts that are inside the bottle and invisible from outside.
The photograph shows a representative bottle from the category. Colour, cap style and pump finish follow the approved sample, and the image is illustrative rather than a picture of your goods.
We have sourced airless and pump dispensers out of the Guangdong and Zhejiang clusters for years. Three failures repeat. A pump sold at a stated dose delivers a slightly different volume per stroke once the piston seal is made from a cheaper elastomer. A bottle that held water in a factory test leaks a low viscosity formula during air freight. And decoration that looked crisp on the sample lifts at the shoulder of the bottle after a few weeks in a humid bathroom.
This page covers what the pump and material words mean, what belongs on the order sheet, and the checks that catch a weak lot. The supply base behind the category is in our wholesale beauty and cosmetics overview.
Pump, piston and material
The pump mechanism is a small assembly with a spring, a seal and a metering chamber, and each of those determines how the bottle behaves. The dose volume per stroke is the headline figure because it sets how many applications a customer gets from one bottle, and it is measured rather than assumed.
The piston and seal follow the formula. Airless systems rely on a piston that rises as product is drawn out, and the seal between piston and bottle wall must suit the viscosity and the solvent in the formula. A seal chosen for water is not the same seal as one chosen for an oil or an alcohol.
The bottle body and its decoration are the visible half. Material choice sets the barrier, the shoulder shape sets how the bottle feels, and the decoration method sets how the branding survives. Each decoration route has its own adhesion behaviour on the specific plastic.
Specifications and minimum order
Our minimum order is 1 piece, so you can start with a single unit and scale up once the sample is approved. Every line below changes what the factory produces. We do not print prices or schedules here, because resin and pump inputs move; send the volume, the formula type and the quantity, and we come back with a live quotation and a firm production slot.
| Specification | What to confirm before you order |
|---|---|
| Fill volume | nominal capacity and the usable volume the pump can actually draw |
| Dose per stroke | the volume delivered per activation, measured on the bulk lot |
| Formula type | viscosity and solvent, since both decide the seal and piston material |
| Body material | the plastic and its barrier behaviour, plus the shoulder and base finish |
| Decoration | method, coverage and the adhesion test the bulk must pass |
| Cap and closure | cap style, overcap fit and any induction seal requirement |
| Pedido mínimo | stated per mould and per decoration route, since both carry setup |
Minimums in airless packaging are driven by the mould, which is why a single body across several decoration variants is the cheapest way to build a range. Our sourcing service covers the factory screening, the sample round and the inspections below.
What the pump words mean in practice
Dose volume and usable volume are different numbers and both belong in the specification. Dose is what the customer feels per press; usable volume is how much of the fill the pump can empty before it stops drawing. A bottle that holds thirty millilitres but stops at twenty six has a priming loss the customer notices.
Priming matters more than it sounds. An airless pump needs several strokes before it delivers product the first time, and a system that primes slowly reads as faulty. Counting the strokes to first delivery on a bulk sample is a cheap and revealing test.
Leak behaviour is the property that decides whether the packaging survives the journey. Pressure changes in air freight push low viscosity formulas past seals that held in a factory, so a leak test belongs on a filled bottle rather than an empty one wherever possible.
What belongs in the purchase order
One page attached to the PO is what protects the reorder. Cover these points:
- Fill capacity and usable volume, both named
- Dose per stroke with the measurement method agreed
- Formula viscosity and solvent, with the seal material matched to them
- Body material, shoulder and base finish
- Decoration method with an adhesion pass level
- A penalty clause if the bulk lot differs from the approved sample
Inspection points that catch a weak lot
These checks find what a product photograph cannot:
- Count strokes to prime. Fill a bulk bottle and count the presses before product arrives. A slow prime is a fault the customer feels on day one.
- Measure the dose. Weigh ten strokes of water on a bulk unit and compare the average against the claim.
- Empty the bottle. Keep pumping to the end and measure the residue. Usable volume is where cheap airless systems fall short.
- Stress the decoration. Rub the decorated area with a damp cloth and a fingernail, especially at the shoulder.
- Leak test filled units. Seal filled bottles, expose them to warmth and check for seepage at the pump collar.
An independent inspection before loading catches all five at the cheapest point. Factory inspection covers this category, and the wider system is set out in our guide to pre shipment inspection.
Preguntas frecuentes
What does airless actually protect?
Airless packaging keeps the formula away from air and from the contamination that comes with a dip tube and repeated opening. That matters most for formulas with active ingredients that oxidise, and it lets a brand reduce preservative load, which is the claim behind most airless launches.
How do I choose the seal material?
Match it to the formula rather than to the price. Viscosity decides how much force the pump sees and the solvent decides which elastomers swell or harden. Give the supplier the formula type and confirm the seal material in writing before the mould is committed.
Can a stock bottle be decorated instead of a custom mould?
Yes, and it is the usual route for a first range. A stock body with custom decoration carries a much lower minimum because the mould already exists, which leaves the decoration setup as the only tooling question.
