Factory Inspection and Product Quality Control in China

Most sourcing problems trace back to one thing: nobody looked at the goods before they shipped. A supplier can show you a perfect sample and then run the bulk order on a worn mould, substitute a cheaper grade of resin, or pack the cartons too thin for a sea container. By the time the goods land, the argument is unwinnable and you own the inventory.

This is the part of sourcing we handle in person. We attend the factory during production and again before loading, check the goods against your approved sample and your specification, photograph what we find, and tell you plainly whether to release the shipment, ask for rework, or reject it.

What we inspect

• Quantity and packing: cartons counted, inner packs opened, master carton weight and dimensions verified against the packing list
• Appearance and workmanship: colour consistency against the approved sample, stitching, seams, print registration and surface defects
• Dimensions and weight: measured against specification, with the tolerance recorded rather than assumed
• Function: powered items run, moving parts cycled, seals, fittings and closures tested
• Labels and markings: barcodes scanned, care and content panels checked, compliance marks verified for your destination market
• Packaging: retail box strength, carton vulnerability in transit, shipping marks and pallet configuration
• Sampling: random sampling across the finished lot on an AQL basis, not a carton the factory chose

When should I book an inspection?

When production is finished or nearly finished and the goods are packed, but before they are loaded. Inspecting earlier catches problems while the line is still running, which is cheaper to correct.

Do you inspect against my own specification?

Yes. We work from your specification, your approved sample and your own checklist if you have one. Where you do not have a written standard, we send you the points we intend to measure for approval before we attend.

What happens if the goods fail?

You get the evidence and a recommendation. We then go back to the factory on your behalf, negotiate rework or a price adjustment, and re-inspect if the goods are corrected.
