Wholesale Consumer Electronics from China
Electronics is the category where certification decides whether a product can be sold at all, and where the difference between two apparently identical units is a component nobody can see. The price gap between two quotations is usually inside the case.
Batteries add a second layer: a lithium cell has to be tested to travel, declared correctly, and carried by a forwarder that accepts it. A product that cannot legally leave is worth nothing, however good the price was.
We buy consumer electronics for importers in Europe and North America, mostly from the Shenzhen and Dongguan clusters, and we ask for the certification file before the price. The notes below cover the cluster map, realistic prices and the checks that matter.
Where the electronics factories are
| Cluster | City | Strengths | Typical MOQ |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chargers and cables | Shenzhen (Guangdong) | GaN chargers, USB-C cables, hubs, adapters | 500 pieces |
| Audio | Shenzhen and Dongguan (Guangdong) | True wireless earbuds, speakers, headphones | 500 pieces |
| Power banks and cells | Shenzhen (Bao’an and Longgang) | Cells, battery packs, portable power stations | 500 pieces |
| Wearables | Shenzhen and Dongguan (Guangdong) | Smart watches, fitness bands, trackers | 300 pieces |
| Small home electronics | Shenzhen and Ningbo (Zhejiang) | Desk fans, humidifiers, LED strips, diffusers | 500 pieces |
The Shenzhen cluster is a component ecosystem rather than a set of factories, which is why the same product can be assembled from parts bought within a few kilometres. Cluster choice here decides how quickly a specification change can be quoted.
Price ranges you should expect
| Product type | Factory price range | MOQ | Lead time |
|---|---|---|---|
| GaN charger 20 W | $3.20 to $9.00 | 500 pieces | 20 to 30 days |
| USB-C braided cable 1 m | $0.60 to $2.50 | 1,000 pieces | 15 to 25 days |
| True wireless earbuds with case | $4.50 to $22.00 | 500 pieces | 25 to 40 days |
| Power bank 10,000 mAh | $5.50 to $13.00 | 500 pieces | 25 to 40 days |
| Smart watch with heart rate | $12.00 to $38.00 | 300 pieces | 30 to 45 days |
Certification is a document with the factory’s name on it
A radio product sold into the European Union needs a test report against the radio equipment rules, and into the United States a device that transmits needs its own equipment authorisation. A badge copied onto a listing is not a certificate. Ask for the report, check that the model and the manufacturer match the order, and keep it with the shipment documents.
Batteries are a shipping problem before they are a product problem
Lithium cells need the UN 38.3 test summary and a safety data sheet, packing has to follow the dangerous goods rules, and the forwarder has to accept the class. Power banks cannot travel on every route, so confirm the shipping lane before the order is placed rather than after it is finished.
Capacity claims hide inside a sealed case
A capacity figure in milliampere hours means little without the voltage and the discharge rate, and the cell inside decides whether the claim holds. Test the capacity on production samples, ask for the cell brand and the protection board, and specify both in the written specification.
Where certification cost sits
Testing is charged per model and per radio module, so a product range built on one module costs far less to certify than a range built on four. That is a design decision, and it is cheaper to make it before the tooling than after.

Frequently asked questions
Who pays for the testing?
You do, because the certificate is issued against your product and your brand, and it is quoted as a separate line so you can see it. We arrange it with a recognised lab and give you the report.
Can electronics ship by air?
Some can, with the right declaration and a carrier that accepts lithium batteries. Others have to go by sea. We confirm the route before the order rather than discovering it at the airport.
Do you inspect electronics before shipment?
Yes. A functional test on production units, a charging and ageing check on samples, and a look at the packaging, the labels and the accessories. It is booked with the inspection service.
What is the minimum order?
The factory minimum is in the table above, and certification cost is spread across the run. Our own minimum is one piece, so a sample can be bought and tested before a production order.
Can you supply the product with my brand and my packaging?
Yes. Your logo on the product and on the retail box, plus the manual, the label and the certification marks, prepared as one artwork set. The marks printed on the box have to match the certificate that applies to the model, so the two are checked together before the print run rather than after it.
