Wholesale All Weather Car Mat Sets from China
The all weather mat set is the accessories product that turned a rubber mat into a fitted garment: scanned per vehicle model, moulded in TPE, sold by application. The category’s quality story is material and fit, and its returns story is odour and slip, in that order.

The failures: a set that smells like a chemistry lesson for months because the compound was cut with filler, fitment that is close but not close, and mats that slide because the retention clips were omitted or the backing texture was smooth.
All three are checkable in minutes. The category context is in our wholesale auto parts overview.
Material, fitment and retention
TPE, thermoplastic elastomer, is the category’s standard material, and grades vary by filler content: a clean TPE is odour light and flexible in cold weather; a filled compound smells, stiffens and cracks at the pedal edge. The material declaration is a specification line, and the smell test is its verification.
Fitment is the commercial asset: laser scanned moulds per vehicle model, held as a mould library. Retention is the safety side: OEM style clips that hook the factory anchors, plus a textured backing, keep the mat away from the pedal travel, which is the reason regulators care about mats at all.
Specifications and minimum order
TPE prices track polymer markets, so live figures come with the quotation. Fix these points.
| Specification | What to confirm before you order |
|---|---|
| Material | TPE grade named, filler content declared, odour standard stated |
| Fitment | Vehicle models covered, from the mould library or new scans |
| Retention | Clip type matched to the factory anchors, backing texture spec |
| Cold behaviour | Flexibility at low temperature, as a tested property |
| Lip and channels | Edge height and channel depth for spill containment |
| Packing | Folded or rolled, box spec and carton limits |
| Minimum order | Hundreds per model in practice; existing moulds carry lower minimums than new scans |
Our minimum order is 1 piece, so a fitted, smelled and driven sample is approved before any production commitment. The production minimum follows the model mould, and we confirm it against your application list. Our sourcing service screens the mould libraries, because the mould library is the asset you are really buying.
Odour is a dealbreaker
A filled compound passes every visual check and fails the first hot afternoon, when the cabin turns the mat into a scent diffuser. The odour standard is written as a test: sample mats baked warm and judged by a panel against a reference. Factories with clean compounds pass; the rest reformulate, which is the point.
Fitment is the second differentiator, and it lives in the mould library. A model covered by an existing scan is a stock decision; a new scan is a tooling decision with a different minimum. Our quality assurance service writes the odour and fit checks into the order.
What belongs in the purchase order
- TPE grade with filler content and the odour standard
- Vehicle models, from the mould library or new scan
- Retention clips matched to factory anchors, backing texture stated
- Cold flexibility as a tested property
- Lip height and channel depth
- Packing spec and box labelling per model
Checks that catch the repeat failures
- Odour bake. Warm bulk mats in a closed box and judge against a reference; filled compounds announce themselves.
- Fit check. Fit bulk sets in the reference vehicle or against the scan; edge gaps show immediately.
- Anchor test. Clip the mat to the factory anchors and pull; retention that releases by hand fails the safety purpose.
- Cold bend. Chill a sample to winter temperature and bend the pedal edge; cracking compounds show now.
- Material declaration match. Match the material certificate to your production dates.
These checks are standard work in a pre shipment inspection, and our factory inspection service covers moulding plants. For the fuller method, see our pre shipment inspection guide.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some mats smell for months?
Filler content in the compound, and volatile additives that outgas in cabin heat. The odour bake test on bulk units is the verification, and it costs minutes. Our minimum order is 1 piece for sampling any model.
How is fitment achieved?
Laser scanning the vehicle floor and moulding to the scan. Existing moulds cover popular models at lower minimums; new models need a scan, which is a tooling decision. We list which side of that line each model sits on before you commit.
Are retention clips really necessary?
Yes. The mat’s job is to stay away from the pedal travel, and the factory anchors exist for exactly that reason. A mat without clips is a clearance item; a mat with them is an accessory.
